You won't believe the views from this brand new, beautifully decorated
condo..... The unit is located on the top floor of an elegant 8 story building that has
just been completed, Palmar Condominums. It has just 60 units. We feel
fortunate to have been one of the early purchasers at Palmar because it
is a first class project and we were able to purchase one of the best
units.
The 1900 sq ft home is all on one floor with wall to
wall, floor to ceiling glass. It really is an "Oh my God" experience
when you walk in the front door. The open floor plan creates a very
spacious feeling. From the balcony you will see the large, beautiful
pool area that if for the exclusive use of building residents. There is
also a small beach club for tenants across the street that provides a
place to sun in the sand and allows easy access to one of the top shore
enter snorkling sites on the island as evidenced by the fact that 10-20
snorkle boat operators bring their paying customers to this spot every
day. The area right below the condo also makes a nice shore dive as a
warm up before diving the big reefs. While diving I have seen eels and
lobsters in the coral formations just below our place. There are
thousands of fish from dozens of different species--large and small to
see.
As you can see in the pictures the pool is very large, has
a huge tiled area surrounding it and provides shade structures. This
has become the gathering place of residents of Palmar who are local
professionals or Americans who spend several months a year in Cozumel.
It is a great place to meet people, hang out and watch the activity on
the ocean. By this fall a tennis court will be completed. The owner
also plans to put a man made beach in across the street from the condo
in the nexr few month
Palmar is situated in the "south" hotel
district which means it is about 3 minutes (by car) from downtown. It
is also right in the heart of lots of activity. We like the fact that
we can walk across the street to go snorkeling or to the dive shop, can
watch a lot going on the crystal clear water below the condo and have
access to restaurants and other shops, including a 24 hr convienence
store, that are a three minute walk away.
As you will see in the
photos the views are magnificent. We check out many condos in Cozumel
before we bought at Palmar and believe these views are unequaled. By
being on the 8th floor you are able to see the incredible variety of
greens and blues that has made Cozumel's waters famous. You also have a
wonderful perspective to watch cruise ships come and go as well as sail
boats, snorkelers and other boats seemingly dance across the sparking
turquoise water during the day. Then, every evening you watch the sun
set in the Caribbean. It is truly a magical place to stay.
You
will want to plan your day so you can enjoy the beach, water or town
during the day be home to enjoy watching the sunset from the large
balcony which is where we find ourselves spending most of our time.
Mornings are gorgeous looking down into the water and every sunset is
different. It is always is a special moment when the last small piece
of the sun disappears into the Caribbean.
We also like the fact
that the building does not directly face west. The building was wisely
designed slightly facing south so you get the views without the
afternoon sun making it too hot to enjoy the balcony as the sun goes
down. This may seem a small thing but it is not. Many condos face
directly west and although views can be good it is too hot to be
outside until after sunset.
As you see in the photos this
penthouse condo has floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows in the
living room/dining/kitchen area as well as in the master bedroom. The
master bedroom has the same stunning view with floor to ceiling windows
as you can see in the photos. The views are as good at it gets on
Cozumel
The balcony is HUGE!! It is about 35 feet long and 8
feet wide. It is like another room. It is where we have breakfast every
morning while watching the boats come and go and watch sunsets.
We
have taken pains to decorate the condo beautifully and to furnish the
kitchen with first class cookware and other things needed by those who
love to cook. If you prefer to have a local cook for you that can be
arranged at a reasonable cost by our local property manager.
There
are two bedrooms and each has it's own bath. There is a queen sized
pullout couch in the living room and a guest bathroom near the entry
way so people staying on the pullout do not have to bother fellow
guests in the middle of the night.
A washer and dryer are in a
utility room. All cleaning supplies are provided as is maid service
when you leave. You can get more cleaning if you would like.
For
divers, the dive shop across the street (Del Mar Aquatics) offers 10%
discounts for people staying in our condo for divers who do at least 3
days of diving with them. It is a top notch, full service shop. They
also have lockers for your gear.
And, although Cozumel is an
incredibly safe place to visit there is 24 hour security staff on the
premises. Our local property management company will make sure you get
settled in and stop by every 2-3 days to insure your stay is what you
hoped for. They can also coach you about things you want to know
about.........things to do, places to shop, restaurants, etc.
As
you can tell by reading this we intend to make this a first class condo
that you will remember staying at for the rest of your life. We love
Cozumel and want you to your stay.
